The Photographer’s MBA takes into consideration the overall photography industry and discusses in depth how to set up, maintain, and grow a new photography business. Photographer Sal Cincotta – who runs a highly successful portrait, senior, and wedding photography business in St. Louis – first dives in to discuss the various corporate models (S-corp, C-corp, LLC, etc.), then, chapter by chapter, takes on the all-important business plan, basic accounting tips and tricks, business insurance, creating contracts, and model releases. He dives deep into understanding concepts surrounding costs and pricing, marketing and branding, and much more.
At the end of each chapter, Cincotta closes with a checklist of tasks and action items to complete so that the student gets the full benefit of the information provided – a clear opportunity to turn the information learned in the book into action to create a successful business for themselves. At the end of the book, there is also a list of resources – government and otherwise – for the student to use.
