In this work, we have tried to approach the subject of nature, man
and the four elements in accordance with the verses contained in the
Holy Qur’an. We have not quoted from a great deal of sources except
the English translations of the verses. For our goal is to offer you
unique ideas.
The topic of four elements is a topic which can be encountered in a
very wide range from Ancient Greek to Far Eastern Philosophy. The
elements of nature and natural phenomenon have found their places
in the cultures of many societies in the past. Moreover, they were
perceived as divine events or acts of God.
With the spread of Islamic Civilization, the Islamic thinkers
encountered with the philosophies of Ancient Greece, Egypt and the
Far East. As a result of this encounter, the thoughts and assumptionsin these philosophies were translated into Arabic and were
reevaluated by Islamic thinkers based on Tawhid.
The translations which were conducted and the new works which
were published found an important place in the History of
Philosophy. The medical, philosophical and scientific books
produced within this time period were used as textbooks in the East
for a long time. (In order to acquire detailed information on how the
works produced by the Islamic World in these fields, we recommend
the books of Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin to our readers.)
Based on Qur’an, we have also attempted to examine the concept of
four elements, a concept which took its place in the history and
philosophy.
Our thoughts in this regard may contain both truths and falsehoods.
We kindly request that our work should be treated as a systemic
examination of the topics that we have considered, rather than a
study which tries to achieve clear results. In light of this, we kindly
request that our work should be read with a critical approach.

(برای کسب اطلاعات دقیق در مورد چگونگی آثار تولید شده توسط جهان اسلام در این زمینه ها کتابهای پروفسور دکتر فوات سزگین را به خوانندگان خود توصیه می کنیم.) بر اساس قرآن نیز سعی شده است مفهوم “چهار عنصر” را بررسی کنید، مفهومی که جای خود را در تاریخ و فلسفه باز کرد. افکار ما در این زمینه ممکن است حاوی حقایق و نادرستی باشد. ما خواهش میکنیم که کار ما باید بهعنوان یک بررسی سیستمی از موضوعاتی که در نظر گرفتهایم تلقی شود، نه مطالعهای که سعی در دستیابی به نتایج روشن دارد. در پرتو این، ما با مهربانی درخواست می کنیم که آثار ما باید با رویکرد انتقادی خوانده شود.
